Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to coordinate operational logistics for end matching activities which includes planning schedules for operators, setting up equipment for production runs, resolving processing problems and coordinating equipment shut-down and maintenance. The unit applies to timber process operators that co-ordinate end matching activities in a forest products factory setting.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: computers, keyboards, printers and software used to prepare end matching schedules and maintenance documents tools and equipment used to end matched timber products: personal protective equipment suitable for end matching operations a diverse range of commercial timber production orders with specific information about grades, quantities and cross sections for specified end matched timber products template documents for recording: end matching schedules production outcomes maintenance schedules for end matching equipment organisational procedures for coordinating end matching operations. Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
